Just listened to "The Snows Of Kilimanjaro". Gosh, I love Bernard Herrmann. What a beautiful score. All this tone colors, the moods Herrmann is able to create, the tension, the orchestrations and last but not least: Herrmann the storyteller.
I admire this artist.

The score is full of highlights. Yes, I like the Memory Waltz too, but also The Overture, Nocturne, The Hyena and many others. Like John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith Herrmann had the capability to bias the listener towards the music. He had a unique talent. He was one of the first composers for film music I came in contact with and the passion for his music did never end. Great recording! Great musician!
