Every rejected Elmer Bernstein score I've heard is wonderful, so of course I would love to hear them all. "A River Runs Through It" is the one I'd most like to see released - again, the clip above suggests it's an all-time Bernstein classic - but I would also LOVE to see a release of... "Rat Race" (2001) (apparently in the spirit of "Airplane!") "A Night In the Life of Jimmy Reardon" (the European cut of this has Bernstein's score, and a restored version of that cut is what the director is selling on his website [has anybody seen it? How is Bernstein's score?] - but the score tapes might not exist.) "Casey's Shadow" (Bernstein scoring a film about horse racing... good Lord, how glorious this could be!) "Trust Me" (apparently this was very heavy on the Ondes Martenot, which sounds good to me!) "Murder In Mississippi" (apparently a project very dear to Bernstein) "Innocent Blood" (now, is this one true? Really hard to imagine Landis tossing a Bernstein score, especially after saying in an interview how much like "Sweet Smell of Success" he wanted Ira Newborn's score to be... then again, maybe Bernstein did a score and it was tossed for not sounding enough like "Sweet Smell"... wish I could find out more about this one) An official release of "I Love Trouble" would be wonderful, too. That's a really great one, with a gorgeous love theme. The finale is a knockout. Are there any others? But yes, "A River Runs Through It" would be my #1.

That's all the [known] unreleased ones, DS. Might I add a re-issue (and expanded if there is more) of "Stars 'n' Bars". I was told by somebody in industry, one of the last scores Bernstein did was rejected and it wasn't fully recorded, but his last two were fully recorded, so there apparently is more one mystery out there. The director's cut DVD of Jimmy Readron has Bernstein's score re-instated. IT goes by the original title of "Aren't You Even Gonna Kiss Me Goodbye?".

Unfortunately, I don't know more about "Innocent Blood". soundtrack.ent did an interview with the director and asked about his involvement with Newborn, and commenting on the film he said: "Innocent Blood was a big score - I love Elmer's score for Sweet Smell of Success, and I wanted a big brassy, urban jazzy big-band sound." So my guess would be he got what he wanted, but the studio didn't agree or a test audience did it in.
