Nice. Why doesn't Fox come full circle and just take an actual dump on Mike Judge while they're at it. It would probably be less insulting than how they've actually treated him and his film. I've been waiting for this movie for a year and a half. I haven't been this pissed off over Hollywood boneheadedness since reading about how Terry Gilliam got the shaft over Brazil. Grrrrrrrr.

While a tad off-topic I dicovered something very interesting this morning as I looked for a theatre showing this film..
If you use MOVIEFONE's site to look for it, you'll discover it's not listed ANYWHERE.
However after a bit of digging, I discovered it was listed under this title
Well, it's half hilarious. The first half is totally brilliant, razor-edged satire of both our own society and sci fi films...but then it runs out of ideas halfway through and settles on being amiable. But what a first half...and I loved Shapiro's score, which does some pointed takeoffs of some sci fi classics...
Thanks. Rub salt in the wound why don't ya. I can't convey how completely enraging it is I'm NOT going to be able to see this in a theater. 20th Century Fox YOU BASTARDS!
Ok so while I'm only slightly less mad now than I was 9 years ago about the mishandling of Idiocracy, I think it's a good time to champion this movie again in light of the news about Ted Shapiro's gig as the new Ghostbusters Composer.
