This film has already opened overseas but it coming to the U.S. in September. The music is composed, orchestrated and conducted by Nicholas Dodd and from what I hear on the website it sounds great and it's obvious how Dodd's influence is all over David Arnold's scores.
I see there is an import CD from France, but $30.99 is a bit steep.
Anyone know anything about a U.S. domestic CD or is this going to be another one of those download only releases?
The reason of the price is because it's a long format cd with 36 pages booklet. And yes, in France, all CDs are expansive! Arnold was not happy to see Dodd doing a soundtrack by himself. But, for the moment, the only problem for Dodd is to write "the" theme. He's an orchestrator. A good one but he still has to learn write themes. And that's why the association Arnold-Dodd works so well.
A friend of mine who "hired" Dodd was in London and when he and Dodd crossed the path of David Arnold, Arnold was a little bit upset. It appears that he did not appreciate that Dodd could do his own composition. The same friend "put" Dodd on another french movie.
it is not an assumption. The question was asked there and the only answer which came back is that Arnold does not accept it. That's all. It's your right to not believe it, after all maybe you don't trust your own friedns. For my part, I work in this business and I know the friend I'm referring to, so I believe him.

I don't doubt your friend told you that, but I seriously have a problem believing David Arnold would be "upset" that Nicholas Dodd was hired to compose a film score.
It would be like Bruce Broughton being upset that Mark McKenzie was scoring films. It just doesn't work that way.
And I think Arnold knows that Dodd is responsible for a lot of his "sound" and has said as much.

Except that Broughton wouldn't be afraid that his box of magic tricks was gonna go off and get a composing career, leaving him all alone to struggle along and look bad.
Trust me, David Arnold is sticking with Nicholas Dodd.
I think you guys are making an "issue" where there isn't one.
It's not like Dodd just scored this movie yesterday. The film opened in Europe earlier this year and I'm sure Dodd and Arnold have worked together since then.
