I can second that hope concerning Moonraker. Regarding the other ones, you know my view anyway... wink

This "the Moonraker tapes are lost" thing is, I believe, a misquote. Lukas Kendall didn't actually say the tapes were lost. He simply said they weren't in London, which is perfectly understandable given that Moonraker was recorded in Paris.

Cheers

Stephen beat me to it.
The tapes should be in Paris. If it was recorded there, they should be there.
An expanded Moonraker would be excellent, but i don't think the "big guys" are willing to give cash for that.
Just a thought.

Maybe it will happen in 10 years when EMI decides they need to reissue the Bond scores again.

That won't be happening...

The rights to these titles will revert back to SONY PICTURES who now own the UNITED ARTISTS catalogue and the bond films..

So I suspect that SONYY LEGACY will be doing there own releases as some point.

Stephen, PLEASE, tell the geeks the tapes are lost.
Maybe that will make them go away and leave us alone!

P.S. There is a new book I am currently reading which mentions you!

What are the chances of an expanded album re-recording by someone competent such as Joel McNeely or Nic Raine???

Would it be too costly?

I'm sure it would sell by the bucket load!!!

Silva Screen and Nic Raine already re-recorded one piece of unreleased material on their Bond Back in Action 2 compilation....

I didn't like their Bond re-recordings, I have to say. Silva did some great Barry re-recordings on things like Robin and Marian but I felt the Bond Back In Action stuff was way off. I'd be happy with a re-recording provided it was as good as Robin And Marian, but not if it were only on a par with Bond Back In Action.

Come now Ford, surely someone as high profile as yourself can spell THIER - not spelt there.

Basic gramar seems to be splipping in the world these days - damn cell phones and its texting spelling culture everywhere now!! Grrrr.

Being English, I hold my language as quite important to me.

I know I'm being picky, but I am not gonna let it slide anymore!

Try “their”, “grammar” and “slipping” for a start before you pick on others.

Or did I just miss your British sense of humour?

Interesting thought that Legacy might do something with the Bond titles at some point. Although isn’t the music owned by EMI, hence the latest batch of CDs from them rather than others?

The Man with the Golden Gun
The Spy who loved me
Moonraker
Octopussy
A view to a kill
Licence to kill

All unexpanded LP length CDs.

Other scores from decades back are located or rerecorded.

Why not these?

It is not just the case of the "missing tapes" for Moonraker.

6 major films with LP soundtracks still sold on CDs today in 2009.

I am shocked.
