A great score. If you like music from the Baroque era, you will dig it. Some say it sounds a great deal like Rameau, but I wouldn't know myself. There are obvious Morricone moments though, like the viola solo in the Vatel theme, and the love theme is pure Morricone as well, but even his Baroque sounding material are unmistakenly him. The score is completely melodic all the way through, so if you don't care about Morricone's suspense music, then there's nothing to worry about with this score. There are standalone melodies throughout most of the score, so it's impossible to get bored, and they are all good and catchy. My rating: (****½) Peter

I really like the score. It has lots of varied themes on it and the music's very classical at times. It's a much underrated score by the Maestro imo. If it's cheap, definitely go for it!
