Does anybody know if/when "kelly's heroes/The Cincinatti Kid" is going to be released by Chapter III? I heard it was delayed, but the new release date has come and gone. I have been looking for, but been unable to find this CD. Has it been canceled?

It's already out. I've seen it at Tower.

Could anyone tell me if that Aleph recording was the actual score of the film or just a rerecording?

Thanks and best!

It was the album supplemented by additional music that had been newly recorded.

The Aleph version is still missing at least one fantastic cue, the morning "truck roll-out"--short but incredible.

Can anyone tell us which tracks are new and which are re-records?

I think tracks 7, 9, 11, 16 & 17 are previously unreleased original score tracks and 19 & 20 are newly recorded takes on original score material.

7. Eye Ballin Glasses
9. Criss-Crossing The Fence
11. Got My Mind Back
16. Radio In Barracks
17. Dog Boy

19. Symphonic Sketches Of CHL
20. Down There On The Ground (Symphonic Version)

Man, this CD is mastered LOUD!!

Yeah, this and his 2000 Bullitt re-recording are almost unlistenable.

Nah, Bullitt sounds fabulous. He should have done a compilation of the best Dirty Harry & Magnum Force tracks with the same band.

I disagree with your first thought, but strongly agree with your second.

It is a fat, warm, ear-filling sound. You have to dial your system to play it correctly, but I love the detailed sound this album contains. Very pleasing. But if you don’t like close-miked stuff, then it’s not for you.

This album also has my favorite version of “Shifting Gears”. The driving rhythms of the bassline really hum—deep and low—on this track. When the percussion kicks in at 1:55... it’s just dynamite.
