I couldn't believe my eyes this morning, when I caught five minutes of a computer-animated version of Captain Scarlet, my favourite Gerry Anderson series.
Here was Captain Scarlet running, fighting and passing through doorways! Absolutely fantastic!
I missed all and any hype on this, but having looked it up on the net, it seems that 26 episodes have been made to show in two series. The DVD(s) will be out in October.
I want to add that I'm not geeky about Supermarionation - it's just that I was exactly the right age when it first ran to be wide-eyed about it, and this counts as Major Nostalgia.

I'm with you. I saw images from this new, updated CG animated Captain Scarlet a year ago and it looks great. Unfortunately, Ed Bishop and the actor who voiced Captain Scarlet will not be voicing the main characters.
The original Captain Scarlet was one of my childhood faves, one of the most violent kids shows I'd ever seen.
When A&E issued the DVD box, I was all over it.
So this is actually airing already in the UK? maybe the Sci-Fi Channel will pick it up for airing here.

I saw this, too. Unfortunately though (or not, depending on your POV) it's currently going out as part of one of those frenetic kids' magazine/zoo shows on Saturday mornings.
This means, not only is it split into two or more segments (with a long break in the middle), the end credits are dumped in favour of inane jabbering from one or other of the presenters, and as a result it's impossible to pin down to a regular time slot.
Anyway, from what I saw it's far too good for flippin' kids
There is a website, www.captainscarlet.com which has a lot of what I believe is known as, "cool stuff"...
I don't yet know who did the music, but I was pleased to note they tipped their hat to Barry Gray's transitional percussive device (with the rapidly alternating zoom ins between the last and next scene)...
BOM-BOM-BOM BA-BA-BA-BOM!

What's the music like to the new series and who's done it?
I did hear a while back that Crispin Merill was doing the music. That's a good choice as I thought his music for Space Precinct was very good, especially the main theme.

imdb have Crispin Merrell down as writing the music. This makes the third Gerry Andrson production he has worked on. The last one being Lavender Castle.

The series aired in the U,K. on February 12. It's been stuck into a kids show called Ministry of Mayhem and is shown in two segments. To make matters worse, the episodes are being cut. So far, ITV only has plans to show the first half of season one. The second half will be shown later. Check out:

With regards to Ed Bishop and Francis Matthews, I read in an interview that Gerry Anderson wanted to use their voices, but felt that their voices were were too old for this new series.
