When these posts get bumped, we have no control over where they go. I don't remember if this one was started under General or Non-Film Music.

Harmless fun it is, though.

And given the number of Blue Box threads, prevetmw is totally correct!

Thank you Ron - I do rule.

I think I'll start a thread about thinking seven, eight or nine times before starting a new thread... Are these threads watched by Bush or something? I mean - if you make a thread about music - and someone else had made one...it's the eleventh mortal sin???

I was browsing through time and stumbled upon this wonderfully named thread with an instant memory of what inspired Chris Kinsinger to start it.

Laurent Watteau, you are missed.

Chris, especially, kept me inspired over the course of this thread which started in 2001.

I haven't been this scrambled and off-the-wall in a long time. I miss it!

Why am I suddenly having that Groundhog Day feeling?????

Because, Howard, just because. (Have you seen your shadow lately?)

Interesting old thread, just out of curiosity I am trying to find one around the 9/11 period, shortly after this one. Just to see the type of attitude people were having about everything[not political per say] but basic viewpoints on their world, in and out.

I think you should have thought it over more before starting this thread

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, ado.

For the record, I've asked the board administrator to move this to the non--film score discussion forum.

One never knows which forum an older post will land in when one bumps it.

There are ones out there that started on-topic, then the planes started hitting, then the posts took on a we-interrupt-this-messageboard-discussion emergency feeling...

...anyway, here's a pair that pretty much match your description:

More than thinking 3 or 4 times before starting a new thread, it's more important to do a search just to make sure that there isn't an almost identical one in existence. I realize that some here prefer to start their own, but it can make it very confusing. Plus the confusion can be compounded when a discussion about one thing is hijacked and headed in an entirely different direction. I guess we just need to use common sense to at least try to avoid such repetition.

I don't think a whole YEAR should pass before resurrecting this thread.

We need some silly in this forum.

Well the problem here is that the search engine is a problem.

When the search engine is fixed/updated/improved, then it will become a viable tool in helping to avoid unnecessary threads. It does work sometimes and help you find what you are looking for, but very often it does not, and as a basic website navigation tool it is an issue that should've been addressed a long time ago.

Alternate title for this thread:

"use the search engine, Dammitt!"

Straight and to the point
