Am anjoying the Hawkins on Murder CD since it arrived this morning from FSM. Great stuff. But I've never seen any of the TV movies they are from. I just loved the samples on the website so bought the CD. Anyone know if these films are available?

The 'Always a Winner' theme from Babe is a great tearjerker, isn't it? It's obviously reminiscent of the 'Lonely Man' theme from the Incredible Hulk series. I love the piano playing near the end of the track.

I'd wager that none of these programmes has ever been shown this side of the Atlantic on terrestrial TV. Pity.

Pete.

Yeah the Babe theme is really moving considering the subject matter, and its just a great theme. I also really like the tracks in the Hawkins section of the CD like Sarabande with that melancholy guitar. I like Winter Kill but its not as immediatley enjoyable as the other 2 soundtracks. LIke its pretty experimental which is cool but not exactly a pleasant listening experience.

Never seen Hawkins but I like the Jimmy Stewart quote on the back cover. I can imagine exactly how he'd deliver those lines. Anyone got the exact quotation?

Pete.

The HAWKINS mysteries used to play regularly in syndication. We also played them briefly on the CBS LATE MOVIE. With the evaporation of independent stations and the near-disappearance of syndicated movie packages, I think your only chance for seeing these telefilms will be if the Mystery Channel airs them. I was astounded when I discovered that Mystery recently ran the 1971 miniseries VANISHED with Richard Widmark and an all-star cast. I thought I would never have the chance to see that again.

Never say never.

I've not seen them, but I still really love the FSM CD of the music.

Nothing more fun than watching James Stewart and Strother Martin play off each other.

Indeed it is! And there's a clip there, too. Sweet.

Did Goldsmith score all of the HAWKINS Movies or just "Death and the Maiden"?

If he just scored that one, who scored the others?

Okay, IMDB lists Jerry Fielding as scoring 3 of them, Goldsmith 1.

And FSM released the 3 Fielding scores, too! smile
