thread is misleading , why people feel the need to guess at these things is beyond me .
Perhaps it's not the most mind provoking thread but oscars is a hot topic from December to March for thousands
of people...anyone is free to post his opinion and thoughts about the scores that he/she thinks might get the honor to be nominated for the academy award. It's not about posting a list per se.
I think the "misleading" part is that the thread is about predictions, not about the actual list (which I hope will be imminent).

No, itscorez, FILMS 1 is correct, your threads heading IS misleading. I also thought it was the actual shortlist from the academy, it is not. It is merely your wishes, if you were the ruller of Zardoz. And there's nothing wrong with a list of what you'd hope to be the shortlist, but you should state upfront: this is what I'd select.

Finally, this was the first year of shortlists for best original score and best original song. Apart from Green Book, which was disqualified because it features too much pre-existing music, all of the best original score Critics' Choice nominees made the cut — Black Panther, First Man, If Beale Street Could Talk, Isle of Dogs and Mary Poppins Returns. Excepting Beale Street, those were also Golden Globe nominees, as was A Quiet Place, which also made the list of 15 here, as did Annihilation, Avengers: Infinity War, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, BlacKkKlansman (Spike Lee's longtime collaborator Terence Blanchard has never been Oscar-nominated), Crazy Rich Asians, The Death of Stalin, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Ready Player One and Vice.
