This folk tune, recorded by Jo Stafford for her 1955 Columbia LP "Happy Holiday," features instrumentation and modal harmonies that would not at all be out of place on a 1966 psych folk album.
In particular, the way the arrangement eschews chromaticism and functional ii-V-I harmony and, especially, the way the melody lands on the 11th at the end are completely out of step with mid-1950s pop arranging. It could fit on a Simon and Garfunkel album.
