JAMES BOND---director Cary Fukunaga confirmed Lea Seydoux (SPECTRE) is returning for the 25th James Bond movie, “Lea will be returning. You have some of the best actors in the world here. Why wouldn’t I have the best coming back?”

NIGHT GALLERY---Syfy revival of the Rod Serling horror anthology tv series is underway. Jeff Davis (CRIMINAL MINDS, TEEN WOLF) is the creator. The original series ran on NBC from 1969-1973.

ACADEMY AWARDS--shortly after being announced as the host for the next Academy Awards presentation, Kevin Hart said he will not apologize for past anti-gay jokes and will not host the ceremony, “I just got a call from the Academy and that call basically said, ‘Kevin, apologize for your tweets of old or we’re going to have to move on and find another host.’ I’m talking about the tweets from 2009 and 2010. I chose to pass on the apology. The reason why I passed is because I’ve addressed this several times. This is not the first time this has come up. I’ve addressed it. I’ve spoken on it. I’ve said where the rights and wrongs were. I’ve said who I am now versus who I was then. I’ve done it. I’m not going to continue to go back and tap into the days of old when I’ve moved on and I’m in a completely different place in my life.”

STAR WARS---Constance Wu (CRAZY RICH ASIANS) turned down an informal request from Felicity Jones (ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY) to join the STAR WARS universe, "I want to take roles that challenge me in different ways every year. I'm ready for something new, so thinking about that (signing on to the STAR WARS franchise) makes me feel like it's golden shackles."
However, Jones had no hesitations about returning to STAR WARS, "I loved playing that character so I actually, in an opposite way, I would really like to have more consistency and come back and bring Jyn back. I would actually like that for a couple of years."

LIMETOWN---Jessica Biel, Stanley Tucci and Marlee Matlin star in this Facebook tv series based on the podcast series about a journalist who investigates the disappearances of 300 people in a neuroscience facility in Tennessee.

NEW YORK UNDERCOVER---ABC is in the early stages of rebooting the cop series that ran on Fox from 1994-1998.

TRIVIA---today is the 77th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor as told in the movie TORA! TORA! TORA!
In the movie's famous line from the final scene, Admiral Isoroku Yamamto, who planned the attack on Pearl Harbor, expressed regret for the attack, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."
However, Yamamoto never said these words. Director Richard Fleischer said producer Elmo Williams found a similar line in Yamamoto's diary, but Williams said writer Larry Forrester found the quote in a letter Yamamoto sent to the Japanese Admiralty in 1943. The letter has never been found to confirm the quote.
In his book, THE RELUCTANT ADMIRAL, Hiroyuki Agawa, quoted from Yamamoto's letter of January 9, 1942, "A military man can scarcely pride himself on having 'smitten a sleeping enemy'; it is more a matter of shame, simply, for the one smitten. I would rather you made your appraisal after seeing what the enemy does, since it is certain that, angered and outraged, he will soon launch a determined counterattack."

Man I would've thought "Middle Earth" be a lot higher on the list. I'm surprised X-Men is even on the top ten list. And Star Trek doesn't even crack the top ten?! Sad!

SOLIUM:

STAR TREK GENERATIONS, STAR TREK: INSURRECTION and the three reboot movies (including the movie with the starship Enterprise sailing under water like a shark----that's jumping the shark---no pun intended).

Enough said.

@Solium
The irony of Trek movies is that by far the most large scale cinematic movie of all the Treks remains The Motion Picture. Almost 40 years later it is still the most impressively epic and made for the big screen. And almost everyone then and now dislikes it, even though it was quite successful commercially. There are some others that I like quite a bit, the next three were pretty good. There is some entertainment to be had in the TNG films and reboots. But there was never a really large audience for the Trek films, and the later most commercially successful ones, like Trek 2009 and Into Darkness, are not exactly loved as what Trek represents to the fans. That is the predicament that Paramount is in for further films. As we said before, Trek is at it's genetic core best suited to television.

Rumor has it that Jessica Alba has the "gift" that keeps on giving.

As for the highest-grossing movies, it's especially satisfying that Marvel tops the list.

I use this quote during tennis matches. Especially when ive lost the first set and the oppo have annoyed me! Ha ha

Great quote, sums up what they mustve been thinking after missing the carriers. Who cares if its word for word accurate or 100pc truthful.

In Apollo 13 Ron Howard changed the line, "Houston we had a problem", to "Houston we have a problem". Rewriting history! Fake news!

Yeah, I'm sure that's what they say in the Disney board meetings too.

That could have applied had you said it in 1938.

1. Marvel Cinematic Universe--$17. 4 billion

Deserves it. It's probably the most intelligently plotted franchise in history, even if there is an overall "Sameness" to the films. They are imitated, but nobody is actually learning the most important part of their plan, which is playing the long game. DC flails and Paramount never understood the long range planing aspect of it, which is why Star Trek never really caught hold.

2. Star Wars--$9.2 billion

After the last "Skywalker" film ends, I'll be surprised if it remains as successful as it is. The side films don't thrill and a new saga may or may not catch on. See next item:

3. Harry Potter/The Wizarding--$9.0 billion

Fantastic Beasts 2 isn't doing well at all. I haven't seen either film, as much as I enjoyed the Potterverse.

4. James Bond--$7.0 billion

Again, 007 needs a better plan at this point. It goes in fits and starts depending on the whim of the lead actor. It seems that every other Bond film kinda sucks...sort of like Star Trek.

5. Middle-Earth--$5.8 billion

After Return of the King, I checked out.

6. X-Men--$5.7 billion

A surprisingly high ranking, but I expect them to lose steam. The last film was awful.

7. Spider-Man--$5.6 billion

As much as ASM2 was kind of a clunker, I felt the Parker/Gwen story was amazing and really deserved a final film to tie up where Garfield's Parker was gonna go next. I loathed Homecoming.

8. The Fast and the Furious--$5.1 billion

I don't get it.

9. Batman--$4.9 billion

Are we counting from Keaton to Bale? Affleck never had his own film, as much as I wish he did. His Batman is perfect.

10.Jurassic Park--$4.9 billion

Meh.

VERY surprised Transformers isn't on this list.
