Hi all,

I was listening on headphones to an iTunes rip of my 2004 Rai-Trade double-CD of Ennio Morricone's MARCO POLO.

I noticed that on disc 2, track 7, "Canzone De Mai-Li (Ripresa)", there were clicks and other artefacts which I hadn't noticed before.

No worries, I thought, just a bad rip. But when I went back to the original CD to re-import the track, I discovered the same clicks and artefacts are on my original disc copy too.

Assuming it's just my copy and not a general issue, would any kind soul be willing to share an Apple Lossless (or other lossless) rip of that one track so I can at least have a clean copy of it in my iTunes library, even if I haven't got a clean copy on my CD?

Cheers

I think it's not just your copy since I can hear it on mine too. But it is written on the back cover of the CD in Italian that due to the deterioration of the master tapes some sound anomalies can be heard in some tracks that were impossible to remove.

Ah OK! Because of the nature of the clicks, I thought it was digital degradation.

No the clicks are on my copy as well, such a shame that the tapes for this gorgeous score got damaged. frown

Isn't there a few others tracks on this release with poor sound? Haven't listened to it in some time but I remember a track or two on Disc 1 weren't the best sounding. I recall at the time of release, some people choose not to buy it due to sound issues in the hope a better edition will happen.

Everything which was taken from the old LP-album master was fine. All the new stuff, from different masters which have deteriorated over the years, was poor.
