Preston - I have two very rare 16mm episodes of the filmed TV series Gregory produced with Laughton doing readings. Both are from The Bible. I also have a 16mm kinescope of THE CAINE MUTINY COURT-MARTIAL where Laughton comes out and pays tribute to the late John Hodiak, who played Maryk on Broadway but died just a week before the telecast. His role was taken by Frank Lovejoy.
Gregory was indeed a risk-taker with impeccable taste. At least we have recordings of DON JUAN IN HELL and JOHN BROWN'S BODY.
I'm still reeling, but hope to be able to contribute some of my thoughts in a little while. Meanwhile, I'll just say that Mr. Gregory had very loving memories of Walter Schumann, and I'm glad I was able to have had them to include in my book.
