Over a hundred views and no replies yet, Lush. And this reply will be of no help, because I don't know what it is. Sounds a bit like something from Desplat, but that's a wild guess as I'm unfamiliar with most of his output.

One question - it does "sound" like a film score - but what makes you so sure it actually is one?

Did you just call him a lush?

It don't mean to say you're a bad person.

Also curious who is behind this nice composition and if this is film music.
Some short passages sound to me like something composed by Taro Iwashiro...but that is really wild guess.

Well, a friend of mine asked me if I could help him to figure it out, he has been trying for years to find about this. He says is a score from a film that he saw once and sadly doesn't remember anything about (except the music, that is) , but he could very well be mistaken or confused about it.

Thanks again to all of you guys and excuse my English.

The quality of the recording also suggests it's not some old recorded, nor a concert, and the whole track seem to be the full piece too (as in not just recorded or captured from a source), so it must probably be from a film score, or a newer recording of a classical piece (if not a score)... things like Shazam didn't recognize it though, unfortunately. But which doesn't mean it's not a score.

Where did you (or your friend) have or get this specific track (no info in the idtag originally) ? .. since obviously it's not recorded from a film or a program on tv...

If I can get the original file that's used to make the youtube video, I might be able to find out more (again, if it's a score)

No idea, but it's a lovely waltz. Very "simple", though...could it be the one Anthony Hopkins wrote that André Rieu performed a few years ago?

I didn't know about the Hopkins piece, but I've just heard it on YT and it's not that. But not dissimilar. It does sound too "simple" to be of great consequence in the classical repertoire. That may sound very snobbish but you know what I mean. I wonder if it's from a TV show - a documentary or something. It's kind of "pastiche", as a lot of film/ TV music is/ has to be.

This is a most pleasant piece of music and I too would love to know what it is!
