I recently acquired the Omen Films in a boxed set on Blu-ray. I have a couple of music questions regarding Goldsmith's score to 'Damien: Omen II', and since I'm not a musician, I probably won't be able to distinctly describe my questions, but I think you'll understand. 1. Opening Titles of Damien: Omen II on the Blu-ray. You can hear a sort of 'twangy', re-verbing chord being plucked over and over. You can hear it much better on the Blu-ray than on the c.d., but it's still there. Is this some sort of electronic sound design, or is it a synthesizer? I've never heard it exactly like this in any other film, but find it incredibly distinctive and evocative. 2. The Crow, when in close-up, has this ' scratchy, cawing sound'. Is this an instrument, synthesizer or male choral voice? Here's a clip of the main titles. I couldn't find any with the sound of the crow's caw-sounds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-0-fJH-GgY

I believe I read the twangy thing is a synthesizer through an echoplex.

I love the Sammy Davis, Jr. story. Damien was one of my first Goldsmith albums (in college I used it to help drive a roommate I couldn't stand out of my life). I still adore it and The Final Conflict--the funny thing is the first Omen, Goldsmith's lone Oscar-winning score, gets very little love from me. I can probably count my listens to it on one hand. The sequel scores are infinitely superior to my ears. Jeff, people can....SEE this..... Even if you took just the original album tracks from The Omen, I can't see how you can ignore that score over Damien (though, yes, Damien was one of your first Goldsmiths and I totally get the nostalgia factor!).
