Perhaps its me but is that not a slightly barking-mad selection that kinda goes off the rails? Morricone westerns.....morricone westerns....morricone gangster....oooh i know, lets have hermann's taxi driver and some nino rota and sonny bono?!!! If the concert was another ten mins - by that loopy logic - we missed out on Jimi Hendrix and some Rosemary Clooney.

The Herrmann is top notch, even if a little incongruous amongst the Morricones.

Yeah tg i love herrmann too but if they did a hermann concert after jason and psycho and trouble with harry and myserious island and vertigo and taxi driver, i wouldnt expect to have the bloody Five man army as an encore!!

Found the DVD and just watched the whole concert. It's just great throughout. I even got tears in my eyes on several occasions, for instance during the moving version of Deborah's theme where the soprano has been replaced by the choir. The Morricone arrangements have been reproduced as faithfully as possible, in the westerns, LE CLAN DES SICILIENS, THE UNTOUCHABLES, etc. TAXI DRIVER is another highlight, featuring the saxophone player Hans Unlrik. I really recommend it.
