... but once you've gone Blu-ray you get to be a bit of a HD snob, & it's hard going back.

That’s definitely true for me!

HD is to sd what hardcover is to paperback.

Most dvds do not have special features (or have limited ones).. That is reserved for the br DELUXE edition.

I was INFURIATED when the third season of Fargo (including my biggest celebrity crush, Mary Elizabeth Winstead) was DVD-only. mad Sadly, unless it's a show that sells VERY well, the chance of getting a complete Blu run of it is extremely small. I flat-out refuse to buy modern-day movies and shows in standard-def on DVDs.

Huh? What's wrong with paperback? Or in my case digital?

They stop producing Blu-ray sets if the previous seasons don't sell well enough to justify the cost of production.

This makes no sense.

It might be somewhat closer to say that HD is to sd what an unabridged novel is to an abridged novel, but even that's not right.

Hardcover and paperback have identical information between the covers. A lot of data is omitted when you go from HD to sd.

I was referring to the consumers of the products.
