I viewed a French Drama last night (from Netflix) titled, 'The Guardians'. The vast majority of members on this board would not be interested in sitting through this film about The Women-Folk who take over the job duties on a large farm in rural France when their Men go off to fight during W.W.1. It's a beautifully filmed story, but only a fraction of members here would / could sit through this film which is well over 2 hours in length. I did NOT know who the composer was because the credits were all listed after the film. The first cue of score starts quite some time into the film, but when I heard it, I really was struck by the melody, the overflowing 'life' in the music. There are several cues, rather long, that are in this film, all are beautiful to hear. At film's end, I searced for the composer, and it said simply: Music - Michel Legrand. I was really surprised he was still composing, but not surprised at how lovely his compostions were. The film came out this year, but I don't think there's enough score in the film for a soundtrack release. Pity.
