Oh that husky voice! I think I was in love with her in the sixties. Apparently she had a massive stroke last month & died in hospital.

Most here will know she was the voice of the Village PA in The Prisoner.

I don't know if I knew that or not.

Sorry to hear this, she was great.

Na, that was the husky, sexy-as-sin voice of Joan Greenwood (Kind Hearts and Coronets, Mysterious Island, Tom Jones).

In CARRY ON REGARDLESS, the Helping Hands agency employs some very strange people to perform some very strange jobs! Even the simplest of tasks get bungled by the incompetent but lovable staff, as they get given jobs ranging from taking animals for walks (no ordinary animals you understand) to demonstrating new products at a large and prestigious exhibition.

Three of the women in this film--Carole Shelley ("Helen Delling"), Liz Fraser ("Delia King") and Fenella Fielding ("Penny Panting")--all died within the space of 12 days: Shelley on August 31, 2018; Fraser on September 6, 2018; and Fielding on September 11, 2018.

Gerald Thomas' elder brother Ralph Thomas co-directed the film with him but was uncredited.. The film was scored by Bruce Montgomery. The 1961 film was not released in the U.S. until late 1963. The American theatrical poster left off the name of star Sid James.

William Castle's 1963 remake of the James Whale classic THE OLD DARK HOUSE was filmed in England but it wasn't released there until 3 years after its U.S. premiere. In the film, "Tom Penderel" (Tom Poston), an American car salesman in London, delivers a car to an old mansion in Wales and discovers that his eccentric client, "Casper Femm" (Peter Bull), is dead. The car crashes in a raging storm, and Tom is invited to stay at the house by members of Casper's family, including his nieces, the demure young"Cecily" (Janette Scott) and the seductive "Morgana" (Fenella Fielding), and his "Uncle Potiphar" (Mervyn Johns), who has been building an ark in anticipation of another great flood. Each of the relatives is required to return to the dilapidated mansion before midnight each evening or forfeit his share of the family fortune.

Benjamin Frankel provided the unreleased score for the film.

In CARRY ON SCREAMING, young ladies are being spirited away in the woods by "Oddbod" (Tom Clegg), creation of fiendish "Dr. Orlando Watt" (Kenneth Williams). Henpecked "Sergeant Bung" (Harry H. Corbett) is on the case, but an early lead comes to nothing with the ghastly drowning while at work of lavatory attendant "Dan Dann" (Charles Hawtrey). Bung does seem to be having success with "Valeria Watt" (Fenella Fielding) and her very obvious charms, but completely fails to realize her sinister country house holds the key to the unimaginable horrors going on.

Fenella Fielding wore the same, now iconic, red dress for the entire six weeks of filming. There were no copies or replacements. Fielding couldn't sit down in her dress, and had a leaning board behind her whenever she had to rest. Jewelry was bought from London for Fenella Fielding to match her dress. But Fielding had to buy her own ring for the role, which cost £9.

Gerald Thomas directed this twelfth installment of the "Carry On" series, the longest (at 92 minutes) and one of the most popular in the series. Eric Rogers scored the 1966 film.

In the 1966 film ARRIVEDERCI, BABY!, "Nick Johnson" (Tony Curtis) is a man who has always dreamed of becoming wealthy. He decides that marrying moneyed women, and then promptly disposing of them--by any means necessary--is the key to riches. Fenella Fielding is one of those women, a dynamic English heiress named "Fenella".

Ken Hughes directed this black comedy, which was known as DROP DEAD, DARLING in the UK. Dennis Farnon's score was released on an RCA LP, which was reissued on CD in 1999 by RCA Spain.

When a trio of randy sailors go looking for girl-friends in 18th-century London, the townspeople are urged to LOCK UP YOUR DAUGHTERS! The funniest thing about the film may have been the character names:
Christopher Plummer as "Lord Foppington"; Glynis Johns as "Mrs. Squeezum"; Jim Dale as "Lusty"; and Fenella Fielding as "Lady Eager".

Stage director Peter Coe directed the film, his only feature film project. Ron Grainer's score has not had a release.

Ah, Lock Up Your Daughters! An all but forgotten film. I don't think it's had a DVD release anywhere (it was released by Columbia, but I don't know if Sony own it now). I saw it at the cinema & maybe once on TV decades ago, & it's a lot of fun, but not nearly rude enough for a film made in 1969 (I don't even think there's any nudity), but I'd love to see it again (I'd buy a Twilight Time Blu-ray).

That's a very strange coincidence.

Carry On Sceaming and Carry On Cabby (with Liz Fraser) are arguably the best of the Carry Ons.

According to the IMDB, "the filming in Kilkenny caused great controversy and consternation in March 1968 when it was announced that several nude scenes would have to be filmed." The picture received an [R] rating from the MPAA.

Yup. Plus Carry On Cowboy and Up The Khyber... about the as good as the Carry Ons ever got.

You could be correct. I've just dug out the review of the film in the July edition of the magazine Films & Filming, & I see it was an X certificate (over 16 years old only), so it must have had something rude in it, but...will I ever see it again to check?
