Will played himself in the Carnegie Deli round table scene in BROADWAY DANNY ROSE. Will lived just up the street from my office on West 57th Street. He entertained at Sons of the Desert banquets for many years and was a very good friend. Shortly after he appeared on Gilbert Gottfried's podcast he had a stroke and was in rehab for a few months. He was bedridden on his last birthday but still sharing stories about the golden days of show biz.
Oh and Sandy Baron, what a great table. Order me a pistol, knish and a slice of cheesecake, Ray, I'm still in mourning over its closing. And what is it with all these reeds, I feel like Moses?! LOL anyone who's driven the Turnpike...
Ray, I'm so glad to have only a few degrees of separation from this man thanks to you, and I envy you your memories.. I had forgotten about BROADWAY DANNY, and was thinking I hadn't seen Mr. Jordan since my childhood. Even so, what else was there in all the years since then? I'd have loved to see more of him. Or was I just not paying attention?

Well, not too long ago Will had me transfer several of his tv appearances from 16mm kinescope to DVD. I dont think he'd mind that, with his passing, I upload those to youtube. I'll do this in the next few days and post links here.
In recent years Will was doing the industrial dinner circuit playing George Patton. It was a huge boost to his bank account!
Here's the birthday card I made this year for Will:
You'll notice Gable, Preston and Eisenhower together. Will had a routine about the three of them sounding alike.
