The White Owl was pure British pagan horror, and the Eastern Airlines ad made me want to lock up the knives and make sure I'd taken my Lithium for the week. Sheesh-
Eastern Airlines is a genuine rarity and something of a grail for many John Barry fans. Gorgeous music......the lonely oboe for the opening winter scenes melts into Summer strings and bongos with very much a Knack feel before returning to he winter theme right at the end.

Totally agree ... and wouldn't it be great to get proper full versions on CD* For me the opening of that Eastern Airlines beauty was very reminiscent of his score to Four in the Morning (1965) and then it develops into the melodic sounds which span several films, such as Deadfall (1968)
*to include the alternate orchestrations of The Girl with the Sun in Her Hair (1967) ... without checking, the first (B&W) version sounds much more like Johnny Harris's arrangement (re: the 1968 vocal by Davy Clinton). I know I used to enjoy the Sunsilk TV commercial as a youngster and the music was a major factor. It never seemed so good when they changed the style/music. All of the other adverts are new to me.
I remember reading in a book that Barry was responsible for one of my personal holy grails of instrumental music: The After Eight Mints Theme from the early 70s:
Can anybody confirm that? That would mean an awful lot to me since I 've never been able to ascertain if this was the complete 55 sec. piece written for the ad (without a real beginning and a fade out) or if this was in fact a complete track/song, in which case I would give my left arm to know the title and orchestra. I found this original recording on an After Eight promotional disc from the early 90s (no info from the long defunct label; the track is simply called "After Eight Theme", no composer or anything mentioned). But it had a rubbing spot on the front which produced the After Eight mint scent (and still does a little...)
If you have a Youtube channel, you can make a video of the audio only and leave it there; if it's part of the copyrighted material Youtube checks, eventually (sometimes this happens fast or takes years), it'll trip the third-party copyright and tell you what it is. I've done this myself with successful results.
If you don't have one, let me know and I'll put it up on my channel.
Nostalgic for me hearing what must be Alexander Scourby in that commercial. Loved the "Wings of Man" campaign when I was a youngin'. And I sure recognize the voice but know not the name in the Lincoln ad. Wow. Anyway, wasn't JB's "Fun City" from Midnight Cowboy used in a commercial?
