Package from LA LA Land stolen from behind my door placed by Mailman.

P.O. supervisor takes no responsibility and says report it stolen to seller.

I notified LA LA on phone voice mail but haven't heard anything back. It's not their fault it was stolen if someone left it unprotected behind my door.

I'm out the money I paid and the 3 CD's I really wanted. POST OFFICE SUCKS for allowing behind door delivery. BASTARDS. They need to be responsible.

Tracking# on item says it was delivered to my Mailbox on Aug. 4. I RECEIVED NOTHING. My mailbox requires my key to open.

My sis said perhaps Paypal will refund my money.

I'm just a little pissed.

Hope the person who stole it gets intestinal worms and maybe the P.O. Supervisor too.

SON A MO BIX.

Thief probably took my 3 New sealed CD's to local Streetlight or Rasputin and got 50 cents each for them.

Sorry to hear that, Zoob. This makes me glad I live in an apartment with a large locked mailbox.

I'm also sorry to hear that Zoob! Awhile back I had a UPS package stolen, I didn't like it either.

Tracking info says package was delivered to my mailbox which is locked, but Supervisor thinks it might have been left behind door. Thanks Adam B. and henry for caring. They were just 3 $5.00 Nice Price Sealed CD's plus Tax and Shipping but still it's upsetting. I guess I might just buy them again and hope for the best... if they haven't sold out by now.

Mailbox has additional Package lockers for packages. They put a key in your box to open them. But the package was small enough to fit in my personal box. Never had this happen before.

Then it seems to me you have a legitimate beef with the post office, and/or your carrier.

If SOMEONE could tell me how to post pictures on here without having to go through another website, I will post pictures of my "post office story" that would be GUARANTEED to make everyone of y'all's jaws DROP TO THE FLOOR AND BEYOND... and zoob, it would probably make you feel a lot better!

Do you live in a condo complex? I’m trying to figure out what “behind the door” even means. Also check with your neighbors that they didn’t get it by accident

Behind the door for me is actually in front of the door to my place or to the side in the bushes or they can open the screen door and thus leave it in there, which I guess is "behind" the screen door. Basically near the front door to my house, as apposed to in the locked mailbox.

My regular mailman was just here and told me that on the day my package was reported delivered, 3 other people in the neighborhood reported the same problem. All on August 4th. My reg mailman was off that day and so a sub took his place and from that, 4 missing or stolen packages. I think the sub just left a bunch of packages at people's doors and there was a very happy thief following him.

Now who's responsible? I say the Post Office. I waited 1/2 hour today at my local P.O. just to talk to the supervisor. Those places are not well run and by people who really don't give a crap. 30 people in line out the door and 2 cashiers open. And 4 other employees just standing around doing nothing, or pretending to look busy. Give me a freeken break. It's ludicrous and infuriating.

My sympathies, zooba. It's incredibly frustrating. That said, I don't know exactly what the post office can do about this, aside from hold your mail until you come and get it. Package thefts are very common, as are thefts in general. Unless you have an actual reason to believe they didn't put the package where they were supposed to, I don't see much recourse here.

(A few years ago, every single piece of jewelry my wife owned was stolen from a rental apartment while we were having a new roof put on our home. We knew who did it, but it didn't matter.)

Hey Justin....
Well... as I said, I don't want to post them to ANY website except on HERE. IF the only way to do it is the way you're saying, then I won't be able to post them. frown

Just draw pictures Jim. We'll fill in the blanks. Oh that won't work either. You have to upload those too. I can't think straight. Maybe you can just tell the story. I'm curious now. I don't like the Post Office too much. I'll try to avoid it whenever possible. Mail service to me has been pretty good though, until August 4. That substitute messed my and other people's stuff up.

Sorry to hear your package was stolen. I can understand how incredibly frustrating it is, though my anger would squarely be on the thief. I've had packages left at my front door all my life and never had one stolen. If I lived in an area where theft was common I would use a safer address (friend, family, employer, or post office box) Thankfully your not out a lot of money, I'd be modified if someone stole $90 dollars worth of CD's! Maybe 15 FSM members can send you a buck each. wink

Thanks for the sentiments solium. I decided to just repurchase the items. Hopefully they are still available and this won't happen again. In my note at purchase to LA LA I may ask them to "write" on the package in pen "ATTENTION MAIL CARRIER: Please deliver to secure mailbox and do not leave in front of door for possible theft". Which I and they shouldn't have to do, but it may just get me the desired CDs. I'm going to order them again right now, cause this is really bugging me and I'd love to hear those CDs.

Thanks again to all for your thoughts and friendly support! Hope this never happens to any of you!

Zoob
