I love the cover for this one. I've never seen the film, but this artwork gives me a serious Super Mario Bros. vibe - anyone whose seen the film - is there any possibility some of this movie inspired the classic 1980's game? big grin

Not sure I like the spoof feel of the clips. I think I'll have to try and see the film before I decide on the score.

I can't think of any Mancini score that doesn't!

Spoof feel? I don't hear it that way. It's light, granted, but (to me) not spoofy.

Anyway, I'm excited to pick this one up. I've wanted it ever since the film first made the rounds on cable!

Spare yourself. Don't see it, ever. Unwatchable.

Compared to The Prisoner of Zenda score I'm used to, this version sounds like a jaunty parody. That's not necessarily a criticism – it's presumably meant to be that way and might be very well done – but I don't usually care for that kind of score.

It is definitely a very different score for a very different movie.

Niall, I am sure he knows what's going on. He's always wondering where you are.?? You are absolutely right about the shortage of releases to our liking, but this has to be a good one. Hopefully TWO MULES FOR SISTER SARA will follow in October and the Intrada kickstarter news will liven things up.

I'm an enthusiastic Mancini fan but this one seems to be mainly jaunty comedy music which isn't really to my taste but I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy it.

Peter Sellers is a master of comedy after all. The music should and will reflect that.

Yeah but only Mancini could write an "upbeat jolly" theme for a film about a soul sapping space vampire vixen!

Where is there an upbeat jolly theme in “Lifeforce”?

Very nice listen! The theme that is first heard in "The Windmill Siege" has been stuck in my memory for close to forty years! Nice to finally have it!

In a comment that I'm sure will (quite reasonably) frustrate labels and producers, who have completely given in to the general demand for complete releases, I will say that this release plays a little long for me. The score is delightful but light, and to me doesn't quite hold up for an hour and a quarter. Still, I'm very happy with it, and grateful to all the people who made it happen!
