There was a thread on this some time back, but good luck finding it. Anyway, phonetically I believe it's jaw-KEY-no.

Pretty sure the correct way is the way I've always been saying it: "Gia" as in "Ch-ch-chia pet" and "cheeno" as in "Cheeto."

Even if it isn't, I probably won't change the way I say his name. Sort of like how, after so many years of incorrect pronunciation, I refuse to refer to Cillian Murphy as "Killian" Murphy rather than "Sillian" Murphy.

Hi Tango! I've been collecting Giacchino cds, and always think of your inspirational post on my collecting Williams thread to keep me going.

I say Gia-chee-no. And I have no problem continuing that.
It's not like I'm going to meet him and say Gia-chee-no to his face.

Kind of like Vic Min yawn ya.

STAR TREK CONTINUES!

Italians sometimes add letters you don't really need.

Looks like Michael's name should be pronounced GEE AH KEENO but no cigar. I know a Italian soundtrack guy named Joe Antonicelli and he pronounces it Joe AN TONE KNEE CHELL LEE. Celli with a H in there.

Go figger.

It's pronounced correctly as Gi-key-no, I've heard the man say his name from his own mouth.

I tend to go with that as being a factual answer.

His name is correctly pronounced at the 20-second mark.
