I think you should be complaining to the labels instead of on the forum, 'cause I'm sure none of us can do jack about it.

Still, it should be fascinating listening to a Shapiro thriller score. (And I'm thinking that something should be done about that typo in the thread title...and I don't mean the 'u' in Favor.)

Complaining about progression is indeed a battle already lost, and one that wasn't even worth attempting to fight in the first place IMHO. I buy or otherwise stream 99.9% of everything digitally and wouldn't have it any other way.

I have a quote that I shall be taking to my grave (especially when it comes to current technology and modern day trends)... "back in the good old days, when everything was worse."

I am very much a "looks to the future" kind of character. I'm not stuck in the past, and I embrace and look forward to what lies ahead, especially in regards to tech. I cannot get enough of being excited for it.

Technically, back in the good old worse days, when you die, you were alive in those worse good ol' days.

Exactly, and that's why it's a great quote.

I'm sure I will look back in 10/20 years at the tech today and laugh at how primitive it was in comparison. If I don't, my possible future kids will certainly do it for me.

Good for you. Exactly WHAT is PROGRESSING? We are actually REGRESSING as a people due in large part to your beloved technology. The future is nothing to be excited about- it's actually horrific. Just plug into the BORG and sit back and enjoy it right?

Had a listen last night. Not surprisingly, a beautifully conceived and enjoyable score. Clever in its construction and deftly handled as far as balancing orchestra with electronics.

Shapiro is one of the best working in Hollywood today. There's really nothing he cannot do.

.... and that's why it's about time he started getting more high profile projects and getting a shot at the blockbusters. The same goes for Christopher Lennertz and Bear McCreary.

Agreed. Shapiro's Captain Underpants from 2017 was and is one of the best superhero scores composed in the last 2 decades. Then compare that to his eerie and atmospheric score to The Invitation. Such diversity.

Loved the film, loved the score. Shapiro continues to show that he's one of the best. The score is even better in film context where it manages to carve it's own space among the French songs peppered throughout the film. It's even got a real theme. Wish the score producers would reconsider a disk release but the ITunes version is a wonderful consolation prize.

I'm very glad Shapiro seems to have forged a long term relationship with Paul Feig (who, IMHO, has redeemed himself for the misfire that was the distaff GHOSTBUSTERS.)

Shapiro continues to delight and amaze. I do wish someone at MCU would give the guy a chance to compose a really terrific superhero score as we all know he's capable of (Captain Underpants).

I know this won't sound good, but I'd prefer a Captain Marvel Shapiro score to be perfectly honest, based on what I've heard from his canon vs the other composers'. Just my opinion of course.

Is Captain Underpants really that good musically? I mean the title alone is silly, and the animation in the trailer did nothing to make me ever want to watch it. I really disliked the art style actually, and it looked even more childish than Boss Baby from what I can remember.

This is a DAMN good score for a surprisingly great little comedy/thriller.

The score is fantastic. Shapiro played it serious as far as the music content in many cases. yeah it's over the top at points but there's a lot of really solid material on this score.
