Varese is now offering the US customers Media Mail as a shipping option. Now instead of getting your items smashed in 2-3 days, you can pay a cheaper postage rate and let the USPS smash your items for 5 days or more!

*While most Media Mail shipments are delivered within 8 days of shipping, it may take up to 30 days to reach your destination. This is especially true for residents of Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, US Virgin Islands, and APO addresses.

In the time it takes a comparable package to be ordered from Intrada and promptly delivered to one's home, Varese hasn't even put its package in the mail. So it ends up being a Media Mail length of wait regardless of whether one has paid them for first class shipping.

Are Naxos still involved with Varese?

I always choose Media Mail when it is available. Other than a longer delivery time, I haven't noticed any appreciable difference in the condition of the packages upon arrival. I suspect that the major difference is that they spend more time traveling by ground than by air. (And for destinations beyond the "48", by sea instead of air.) Sort of like the difference between FedEx and FedEx Ground.

i'm confused, you've mentioned in the past that you have never bought from this company and even before that naxos starting shipping you never did and now you never will for a variety of so called "reasons" and now you are complaining about something that you will never use? Does that sum it up? what is it to you whether someone uses it or doesn't use it. other labels lalalaland uses it, enjoy the tunes records uses it mondo uses it etc. you're never gonna use. do you go to other message boards to complain about products or what not that you don't use or ever will? you must have a lot of free time on your hands. or like many have mentioned you have some really odd strange, get a life kind of vibe, vindetta against this silly soundtrack label. for you to spend the time to even write this, having more shipping options is a good thing for those that want to use it, but again this is a positive thing so of course you must change it and make it sound negative because anything positive towards this label isn't allowed, correct. wish i had that kind of time on my hands.

Yeah I've used media mail from other vendors from time to time. Sometimes it doesn't even take as long as you think. Occasionally the packages are a bit roughed up, and likely have a footprint on them! But can't say I ever got a damaged item choosing this method. It's a viable option if you want to save on shipping cost.

Erik (aka Kim) has had a vendetta against Varese long before he started pretending to be whatever he’s pretending to be these days.
It’s pretty pathetic.

Excellent news. I choose the media mail rate every time I order from SAE and have never had any issues. I saved a ton on shipping back when they had the Movie Score Media blow out sales. Yes, it takes a bit longer, but that has never bothered me.

Criticism of Varèse for offering shipping options, and using this new flexibility as an opportunity to mock them, is patently absurd on its face. I can hardly wait for Kim to invent an even more ridiculous justification for it.

So, is there a rate table? If there is one of the Varese site, I can't find it.

I found the following regarding Priority on their website previously, but can't find it now either...
$4.50 (1-3) $10.00 (4-7) $14.00 (8-11) $17.00 (12-15) $20.00 (16-19) +$3.00 (+4 add).

That priority was $10 for 4 to 7 titles was why my last two orders were 7 titles each. I'd like to know what the breakdown for media is to maximize my shipping dollars.

Not much of a savings, in any case. $8.55 versus $10.00 for 7 CDs. Maybe I should have went with Priority just to get my CDs to me faster. Only because less time in transit = less chance of being damaged in transit.
