FRIDAY, JUNE 22

THE TERROR---AMC renewed the horror series for Season 2 which will be set during World War II and involves a specter that starts in a Japanese-American internment camp in Southern California and spreads to the war in the Pacific.

THE CONNORS---ABC picked up the ROSEANNE spinoff series with the cast returning except Roseanne Barr. The spinoff centers around "a sudden turn of events" which led to speculation Roseanne will be killed off with an accidental overdose of painkiller.

JOHNNY DEPP---a Dark Horizons synopsis of Johnny Depp's ROLLING STONE interview:

"Among the reveals are that he spent over $30K on wine a month and was smashing down joints of tobacco and hash on a regular basis, he became estranged from his sister after refusing to get a prenup before his marriage to Amber Heard, he admits to being fed lines through an earpiece (with the help of a sound engineer) in film roles, and the $650 million he has made on films throughout his career so far is almost all gone.
Other stories include Depp trying to pull his own tooth at a London restaurant while having dinner with Penelope Cruz and Stella McCartney, that it cost $5 million to shoot Hunter S. Thompson’s ashes out of a cannon..."

TIMELESS---NBC cancelled the series again, but is in talks to develop a tv movie finale.

THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE---Amazon renewed the series for Season 4.

Y: THE LAST MAN---Jodie Foster is in talks to appear in the FX series based on the comic book.

POINT BLANK---Anthony Mackie and Frank Grillo star in the Netflix remake of the 2010 French movie.

TRIVIA---in IN THE LINE OF FIRE, Clint Eastwood play Secret Service agent Frank Horrigan, who was one of the agents protecting John F. Kennedy when he was assassinated. Horrigan is plagued by guilt and seeks redemption for not reacting quickly enough to save Kennedy.
Horrigan is based on Secret Service agent Clint Hill, who was part of Kennedy's Secret Service detail in Dallas. Hill is still haunted by the assassination, “I wish I had been quicker." He added, "...I still feel today a sense of failure and responsibility because that was our job: to keep the president safe, to protect him at all costs. And on that particular day, we were unable to do that."

Clint Eastwood as Secret Service agent Frank Horrigan.

Secret Service agent Clint Hill tries to save President Kennedy as he is fatally shot.

The show shouldn't have come back in the first place. This is just a terrible move. I'd be surprised if it works; I suspect years later it will be known as one of those TV failures that shouldn't have been done. But the TV audience has been shifting in the last five or so years, so I can't say for sure like I would have five years ago.

The Terror season 2 has an interesting setting it seems. I hope the writing is strong and they get the same quality of actors as they did in the first season.

I don't understand how people with that much money can blow all their money. Just invest half of it and it will double or triple in spades. Leaving you more money to waste.

check out the VANITY FAIR article to see how.
He owned a large sail boat that he staffed full time thoughhe didn't use it.
At least he 'created jobs'. Investing doesn't.

Like it or not the ROSEANNE revival was a HUGE ratings hit. If the *bleep* kept her mouth shut it would still be on the air. I actually have a lot of respect for the studio here. They're trying to salvage the jobs for the rest of the cast who became the victims of one idiot.

IF they had given her some benefit of the doubt*, and/or the same dismissal they [studios in general] give other people on a certain side of the political isle who make Godawful comments+, they'd still have the show.

* = She did say, after all -- how ever stupid the post was anyway -- that she had no clue about the color of the skin of the lady.

+ = You can so ______ ('ill leave the name out here) has a (off memory quote) "Retarded baby making c**t" and keep your TV show.

Or, for example, just in the last week Peter Fonda's comment that the President's son should be taken away and in a cage with pedophiles, and today's comment from television writer Pat Dussault saying they they're coming for his four-year-old daughter, too. Neither are getting fired off anything (as of today) for [I[purposeful comments. Meanwhile, if we are to give Roseanna the benefit of the doubt, her comment did not have the intent people thought it did and she got her show canned.

Poor Timeless. NBC giveth, and they taketh away, and they giveth again, and they taketh away... AGAIN. I don't even know why TV bothers with sci-fi in general. It's their ultimate tease of a genre.

  • What a joke - just let the ROSEANNE thing just die for God's sake:-(

I'm still disappointed that Sarah Chalke's character wasn't named "Rebecca".

ABC had already signed the show for a second season when Roseanne opened her gob. If they canned the show, they would still have to pay everyone on contract, so it’s either pay everyone and get nothing or pay everyone and maybe get something.

All this is is another version of Valarie/The Hogan Family and that ran for a good four years after Valarie Harper was kicked off her own show.
