STAR TREK---Patrick Stewart, Alex Kurtzman and Akiva Goldsman are developing a new TREK series with Stewart returning as Jean-Luc Picard. The series is part of a new deal in which Kurtzman will expand the CBS STAR TREK franchise including tv series, miniseries and animated series.

ECHO---George Clooney is in talks to direct the 20th Century Fox sci fi movie about a drone specialist who suspects his lover may be have been replaced.
INVINCIBLE---Amazon animated tv series underway based on the Robert Kirkman comic book.
JETT---Giancarlo Esposito (BREAKING BAD) will play a crime lord in the Cinemax tv series starring Carla Gugino as an ex-con who is forced to return to her profession by crime bosses.
THE NANNY---Fran Drescher hinted a revival of her sitcom may be underway. THE NANNY ran on CBS from 1993-199.
TRIVIA---composer Jerry Goldsmith has a cameo as a band leader in IN HARM'S WAY (John Wayne, Kirk Douglas, Patricia Neal).

Good God, not everything needs a revival.
All I can think of are all the television series I liked which got canned after half a season, and this is what we get in return.
I wasn't a huge fan of Firefly - its a fun distraction at best - but with all these reboots and renews and reattempts, why haven't they gone for the most obvious one on the list? Heck, just make it a limited series like X-Files.
No official word yet, but a guy who's worked on at least three films Ludwig has done, is credited in the Music Department section, so it wouldn't surprise me if Ludwig is scoring the sequel.
