I've had numerous "regular"--not mod DV-Rs--Warner dvds drop dead on me. Doctor Who discs, the Powell-Loy set, Busby Berkeley discs, the old carboard front edition of Dirty Harry, just to name a few. There have also been Warner Brothers CDs that have gone kaka on me, most notably the Rhino 2-CD set of Supeman 1978. It seems this has been limited to discs manufactured between, say, 1999 and 2006 or so. For the Doctor Who discs, I bought replacements in that there were reissued special editions manufactured after those arbitrarily-specified dates. Edit: I see Raynes already answered the question and provided a solution. Screw Warner Brothers, though; I have learned to do without their DVDs, and have avoided their releases like the plague.

Every December (or so), The Warner Brothers Store online has a sale where their dvd's and Blu rays are close to half off. I purchased a couple of titles last year and was planning on doing so again this year. 'Summer of '42' and 'Night Moves' were what I purchased last year, and they played fine, but I don't relish them on my shelf and then in a year or two down the line and I put them back into my player, they've turned into coasters for drinks. I was planning on getting maybe 6 or 7 when they're on sale in a couple of months. Now....?
