SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY---SOLO's budget was $250 million which makes it the most expensive movie in franchise history. The FORCE AWAKENS is second with a $245 million budget. SOLO's original budget was $125 million, but 70% of the movie was reshot by new director Ron Howard which was a big factor in the budget increase.
An inside source commented on why Howard was brought in to replace directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, “I got a lot of overtime [under Lord and Miller], which ultimately was their downfall. The first assistant director brokers that with production. He ultimately went to the well one too many times, and Kathleen Kennedy blew up.”
The source added, “In their minds, Phil and Chris were hired to make a movie that was unexpected and would take a risk, not something that would just service the fans. They wanted it to be fresh, new, emotional, surprising and unique. These guys looked at Han as a maverick, so they wanted to make a movie about a maverick. But at every turn, when they went to take a risk, it was met with a no.”

SHAZAM!---Zachary Levi released the first official photo of his costume.

THE TERROR---Ridley Scott said he is in talks with AMC for Season 2 of the horror series, “It’s difficult too, because in this one, of course, they all die [laughs]. So we’ve been coming back to [AMC] with suggestions for a second season, not necessarily along the similar lines. But let’s say, this comes up in the AMC title as being almost under the heading of a bit of a horror film, OK? But I think it’s not only a horror film, but I think it’s better than that.”
Scott added, “It’s a combination of real life fear — it’s interesting that the ship is called Terror as well — real life fear and trepidation leading to terror. And that gives it the horror banner. But I think the characterizations in it are really special. So coming up with another show, almost an entirely different story is the target next. And I think we had a very good run of the ship with [AMC], so I think they’re looking for more.”

ROGER AILES---Charlize Theron will play former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly in this untitled movie about the rise and fall of Fox News head Roger Ailes.

THE EXPANSE---Amazon is in talks to pick up the cancelled Syfy series. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is a big fan of the series.

THE NAME OF THE ROSE---John Turturro plays Franciscan monk William of Baskerville in the tv series based on the novel which inspired the 1986 movie that starred Sean Connery and Christian Slater.

FOX---Fox will air two new LUCIFER episodes on May 28. The network cancelled LA TO VEGAS

OVERLOOKED---Paramount Television/NEW YORK TIMES tv series underway in which each episode focuses on a notable woman who died and was not mentioned in the newspaper's obituary section. The series will be written and directed by women.

DOCTOR ZHIVAGO---eight-part miniseries underway based on the novel which inspired the 1965 movie that starred Omar Sharif and Julie Christie.

DRY RUN: THE LINCOLNS IN SPAIN---six-part miniseries underway about the US Abraham Lincoln Battalion which fought in the Spanish Civil War before World War II.

SILO---tv series set in future San Francisco where crime and overpopulation has led to gated communities called silos. Michael Douglas is the producer.

THE LAST AMAZON--tv series underway about the amazon queens including Antiope and Hippolyta.

SUPERGIRL---a transgender woman who was a former political speech writer will be introduced in Season 4.

TRIVIA---in FIREFOX, David Huffman played Air Force Captain Buckholz who informs ex-fighter pilot Clint Eastwood that he has been reactivated in order to steal Russia's advanced MiG-31 Firefox jet fighter. Huffman was murdered trying to apprehend a burglary suspect in San Diego in 1985.

I hope they'll do it, because it's one of the best shows I've seen in a while; totally addictive. Perhaps focus on another group or mission. I think the first season pretty much played out its storyline (even if it would have been cool to see Jared Harris return -- the sole survivor. But I presume he lived out the rest of his life with the eskimos).

Another current favourite show of mine, and I discovered that it had been cancelled and that Amazon was interested almost simulatenously. Again, hope it comes to pass.

With The Terror being based on the novel I'd leave any connection to this series alone. But Dan Simmons does have a book about I ghink an abominable snowman which could maybe be adapted, it would seem to bè a suitable companion piece. The Terror has been a great series and I think at it's best when the monster was not seen. The acting has been superb.if they come up with a new story under The Terror series I'll be interested to watch it.

The more I read about "The Terror", the more I think I should renew my Netflix.
It sounds right up my alley, because I am a huge fan of Poe's "The Narrative Of Arthur Gordon Pym".
I find there are way too many similarities between the 2 stories to have been a coincidence.
It was almost as though various elements of the Poe story were taken apart, spun around, and expanded upon, and the creature that appears right at the very end of it was weaved throughout the show's plot.
Very cool.

So I renew the Netflix to find that "The Terror" never WAS on Netflix!
I had a good belly laugh at my own obliviousness.
Oh well--renewing it was a good thing anyway.

I'd like to see that The Terror production crew handle something like At the Mountains of Madness or an adaption of Roadside Picnic. Or maybe the production team that do The Man in the High Castle to do an adaption of Roadside Picnic.

I only renewed my Netflix subscription so I could watch LIS, and now I keep forgetting to cancel it.
