This is like the post THUNDERBALL Bonds, where they ran out of original ideas and just kept recycling past bits.
I really liked JW but this is the end of the franchise for this Dino lover>

Like the last one, it's just a big dumb, fun, comic book of a film and 2 hrs of solid popcorn entertainment.

You predicted the Indoraptor would be killed by falling through a glass roof and being impaled on the horns of a replica Triceratops fossil???
I just rewatched JW:FK tonight for the first time since theaters. There are a lot of things I don't like about the film: the obnoxious tech kid who screams shrilly and has terrible comedic delivery; the body count consisting entirely of the hokiest comic book villains ever; the midsection of the film slowing to a crawl for the dinosaurs and our heroes to clock in some jail time like something out of a Disney cartoon; the supreme silliness of the superpowers auction. JW:FK is my fourth favorite JP film, ahead of only the abysmal Jurassic Park III.
Still, I realized tonight, there are some very good things in JW:FK that it shares with its immediate predecessor, which is a film I absolutely love to bits. I feel like I enjoy Jurassic World far, far more than I should. The story is pretty meh and the characters and performances aren't all that great either. But the loving nostalgia and absolute respect for the original are strong in this film. The film is filled with so many carefully crafted nods and touches that I'm still discovering new things in it, however many times I've seen it by now. JW:FK attempts to do the same for both the original and—this time around, fittingly—The Lost World: Jurassic Park. It doesn't achieve the same degree of success as Jurassic World, not by a long shot. Still, there are wonderful moments like the Brachiosaurus rising on its hind legs, a mirror image of the first dinosaur seen in its entirety in Jurassic Park, as the smoke and flames of the volcano engulf it.
But where these two Jurassic World films really succeed and justify their existence is in the remarkably rendered dinosaurs and the thrilling action sequences that seem to just build and build in momentum. Fallen Kingdom's "teaser" is almost too big for its own good. It plays like a climax. But who cares? It was completely unexpected and is a damn thrilling way to open a film. Everything that happens on Nublar with the erupting volcano from the Baryonyx in the lava-leaking bunker to the dinosaur stampede is superbly orchestrated action. Blue fighting the Indoraptor, while not quite as awesome as JW's climax, pulls similar emotional chords and is still top-notch excitement.
So does JW:FK have issues, particularly in the story department? No question. Will I revisit it as often as I do Jurassic World? Very likely not. But it still delivers in spades what people come to see these films for in the first place: the spectacular dinosaur action. I can live with Fallen Kingdom as a bridging film, provided the next one really delivers. I'm looking forward to the next installment and hope they continue making these films for as long as the quality of the dinosaurs and the action sequences continues to hold up.
(And Giacchino's music sure plays beautifully in this picture. Thrilling stuff.)
