It is Marianelli in RCP mode but with woodwinds. I can accept that. And there are a few solid themes throughout. It is not all that different though from his recent drama scores though, just kicked up a notch in terms of size of orchestra.

Exactly, first I heard the action samples I got feel that Dario was RCPed, but liked Chasing Mum & Ron’s Driving - more traditional orchestral bombast sound.

Some random thoughts:

- I really loved this movie. Granted it's genetically designed for me, a child of the 80's who owned every Transformer imaginable, but its mix of character, earned emotion, and clear-eyed action (praise the lord) make it IMO the best TRANSFORMERS movie so far, by far. It's funny that Bay made five of these things and never understood it in the way this movie does in the first act alone. It's a Gen 1 episode come to life in the best possible way. It worked like gangbusters for my kids (8 and 5), too. Between this and KUBO, I really hope Travis Knight keeps making interesting choices because the tentpole business is better with him in it.

- The score is....pretty good? Marianelli is as good as they come when he gets a chance to shine but with this score he mostly falls back into that rut of handsome but frustratingly formless music. It's fine I guess, it works I guess, but he's capable of better. That said, there's something to be said for the restraint he shows in not going too far in the other direction, which could've overwhelmed some surprisingly delicate moments. Still, I'd be curious to hear how it plays on album.

- I loved the songs as an album playlist but good lord the powers that be went buckwild with the needle drops. The clever use of songs to be Bumblebee's voice carries over here and that works well enough, but every few minutes we get a new wallpapery song to remind us that it's 1987. Thankfully when the story gets into high gear in the latter half that's much less of an issue.

on the web site the OP mentioned it says that a CD release was coming from LLL, but its been exactly a year since then. Did it ever happen?
I just saw the movie last night and I enjoyed the score, but I can't find the soundtrack.

Nope. MV mentioned it was pulled for some reason in one of the threads a year ago can't remember which. It's only available as a digital download at the moment.

The last thing I saw on it from MV was less than a year ago and it was not pulled -- from March, 2019:

"Still waiting on Bumblebee art to get signed off on. UGH"
