Just wondered if any of the guys in the band playing with Jerry in the scene might possibly be any of his regular scoring session musicians who got this extra gig for fun to be with Jerry in the film? Perhaps even members of the orchestra who performed on the score for IN HARM'S WAY itself?
Thoughts or answers anyone? Thanks.

Wow, thanks! As much of a fan as I am of this film I had never noticed that it was Mr. Goldsmith in that cameo! Trying to decide about his expression after Mac (Tom Tryon) asks him to change the tune - was he concerned about what was going or annoyed at having to change because he was enjoying Liz's (Barbara Bouchet) rather provocative "pole dance".
Just a guess, no. This was filmed in Hawaii and it is one thing to invite the composer along to take in the atmosphere, but musicians? Also Otto Preminger got co-operation from the Navy for extras and a lot of other stuff including the Navy's band. My guess the players at the party were derived from that or a local island group.
