It was announced today that Hans Zimmer will be this year's recipient of the Max Steiner award. The concert will be on the 18th and 19th of October at the Wiener Konzerthaus. I don´t know yet when the tickets will go on sale. They usually sell out very quickly.
Please be aware that there usually is a symposium with the composer attending at the University of music and performing arts on the Tuesda vefore the concert. There is no guarantee that this symposium will take place (they didn't have one when Randy Newman was the guest of honor). If it does take place it will be announced at a very late date (sometimes just a few weeks before the concert). So make your travel arrangements at your own risk.
