This is a very tempting digital purchase from Disques Cinemusique. I don't often go with the digital download if I can get the disc but this is probably a no brainer. I know it's been available for some time but I am slow to purchase at times. At least I know it isn't sold out.

If you like poorly-applied reverb swamping your music, most Disques Cinemusique releases made from worn LPs should prove satisfying.

So Basil, don't hold back now. Are you telling me this is NOT a worthwhile purchase? Do you really think I want to purchase junk?

What's the point? Both of these had official re-issues.

And let's not forget that LLL has hinted that they have plans for an expanded Anne Frank hopefully for this year, which further negates these downloads.

I do not buy or trust any unofficial release of LP copies from that label, having wasted money on several of them. I have the official release of Anne Frank on Real Gone Music (Universal. 2013) and that is a nice CD.
Also, there have been rumors of an extended Anne Frank CD coming sometime soon.

Now this is what I wish you had conveyed initially. I had been told previously by a few folks here that they were happy with DC releases. I guess I assumed the digital releases were quality as well. I have the official releases of both of these scores including the most recent Diary of Anne Frank. It looked to me like there was additional material for both in this version.

I won't be wasting my money I guess.

I had the ANNE FRANK from Real Gone Music and wasn't happy with the sound quality on that either. Maybe the problems there are inherent to the source material, but whatever the reason I found it very difficult to enjoy. I would absolutely recommend waiting for a release of the original tracks.

Also, some DC releases sound great (I have a number of them), but I've not heard anything good about their reissues of US LPs.

In all honesty, I am so enamored of Newman's score for Anne Frank that I look beyond the less than perfect sound. The tracks entitled The First Kiss, The Dearness of You, Peter and Epilogue give me heartache every time.

I think I still have the Real Gone Music CD here somewhere. You can have it if I can find it!

Let's not diss DC in general. They've released several CDs/downloads of material that has never been re-issued by the original copyright holders and most likely never will.
