BTW you can still vote in the 2016 , Which shortlisted score from the late 1970s most deserved an Oscar? Of course the voting is overrun by Goldsmith fanatics. I voted for Watership Down.
Well I surprised myself by voting for Black Sunday, even though John Williams certainly doesn't need any extra Oscars and Jerry Goldsmith certainly needed more. Why? Because as much as I love all of those Goldsmith scores and Rozsa's Time After Time and others on the list, Black Sunday is honestly probably my favorite and most-listened to of the bunch! (It also might be called Williams's most Goldsmithian score...)
