People!
It was a joke.
I was riffing on a poster who requested a thread devoted just to the Main Theme for RPO.

STOP. JUST STOP!
Have a nice day!

Apparently this is called Poe's Law.

"Without a clear indicator of the author's intent, it is impossible to create a parody of extreme views so obviously exaggerated that it cannot be mistaken by some readers or viewers as a sincere expression of the parodied views."

Though I suppose it could be argued that YOU would never seriously create a thread like this it cannot be argued that a thread like this is out of the ordinary.

The temptation to run off and create a Theme From St. Elswhere thread (or the like) is nearly overwhelming me.

"The Marshall Temptation".

This is the definitive version of the Star Wars theme. We all know it. Don't even pretend you don't agree.

Also this video is superior to any Star Wars film made after 1980.

Well... 2:42 MAY be the ultimate version of The Force Theme. I'm so not kidding.

I admit I love this one, too.

It's a tragic loss that LeRoy Holmes apparently never covered the theme.

I never heard that Geoff Love variation before. Sort of in-between the Meco and the real McCoy. I listened to SW again and for the first time it struck just how much the score is steeped in the Korngold style - it's not everywhere because it requires a certain level of freneticism - mainly to be found in the Death Star chases. I don't think Empire and Jedi followed suit, so SW really is unique amongst that particular trilogy.

I'm okay with whatever you love. Just dont say you "adore it." Music is not adorable.

That Ferguson trumpet version is awesome, thanks for that! :-D

Are there versions in (m)any other genres, beyond the ones already posted?
Who's going to be first to post a link to one of YouTube's horrible graunchy versions "played" by an array of floppy drives? Not me :-P

And who could forget the hideous edit for the 45 of the main title?
