In the past Kritzerland issued several re-mastered Capitol/EMI albums. Is Capitol's music only album of Rota's Romeo & Juliet (1968) score a possibility? The dialog album is readily available, but the music only album is hard to find and was only briefly available years ago on a Silva Screen CD. The LP had a generous 50 pllus minutes run time.
For me it is hard to believe that this beautiful score is OOP for so many years....
Of course, there is Silva new recording with The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Nic Raine, which is great but there is still place for original recording which is also great performed...
This is one of Nino Rota's masterpieces and its rightful place was amongst the nominees for Best Original Score. (Of course 1968 was a very strong year score-wise with some undisputed classics.)
