Fortunately, it doesn't suck up all my time anymore, as there aren't that many discussions I follow. I'm more discerning now, and discussions around the whole C&C craze, speculations etc. take up so much space here that I can avoid a lot of stuff.

Really? I've only ever read about 10% of the threads on a daily basis. Most of them don't interest me. I just click on the ones that do, based on the thread title.

Same here. Now. But it used to be different. Then again, the activity level may have been lower all those years ago (and -- for me -- the topics more interesting).

That's understandable, as the novelty wouldn't have worn off overnight and the world was a 'smaller' place. But I do think the internet has basically evolved into the world wide agony taunt.
