Attention U.S. TCM Subscribers: John Huston's 'Reflections in a Golden Eye' is a film I have mixed feelings about. The rather strange inhabitants of these southern Gothically-tinged surroundings may remain underdeveloped but the performances from its superbly chosen cast compensate by genuinely conveying their characters' frustrations and desires making this engrossing film-watching experience worth eyeing. (More here including Friday evening's showtime information throughout the U.S.):
Do you know which version they are going to show? The one developed with the golden "filter" or the regular color one?
Great question! I tried to find out but couldn't. Personally, I prefer the technicolor version (finding it less distracting and pretentious). The Beverly Cinema (revival house) in L.A. ran it awhile back and they showed the colour version.
