Alrighty, I've been strongly recommended the SAE recording of this piece (and was smiling extra wide when I checked out the samples). I've actually read such kudos about this CD as "maybe even the best score Newman ever did" and to that I say "WOW"! There's also apparently a link between this score to Alfred's other (amazing) work for "spiritual" films. Which makes it even more attractive to me, as I adore Keys of the Kingdom, GSET, Song of Bernadette, the Robe. I see there is another release of the score besides the SAE (actually two, the tsunami and I believe the same import company that released Rozsa scores like All the Men Were Valiant and Blood on the Sun). I'd love to hear everyone's input on this, and please accept my gratitude in advance.

Longer answer later if I have time but (and this is always true) the SAE is always the way to go. Yavar

This was one of my most delightful of several challenges (read book, discuss book, see film, discuss film and music, often purchase soundtrack). Lots to talk about. http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=44720&forumID=1&archive=0 Really cool! I so want that "The Power"...it seems I spend so much I never get around to getting that Rozsa Treasury (arrgh). Now I want to see the movie.
