From the Home Theater Forum...

Authors Chuck Harter (Mr. Novak - An Acclaimed Television series) and Martin Grams Jr. (The Twilight Zone - Unlocking the Door to a Television Classic) are collaborating on writing a new book on the history of David Susskind and Roald Dahl's 1961 Classic TV series 'Way Out...

Both authors are well known for their love of Classic Television and for their dedicated and thorough research, often utilizing previously unseen original sources, archives and newly conducted interviews... both Chuck and Martin are reaching out to fans of 'Way Out in a bid to locate further resources in an effort to produce the best possible book...a fully authoritative history and critical appreciation of this neglected but important show. They will be self publishing under their Hargram book label, and hope to meet a September release date... and debut the book at Martin Gram's Mid Atlantic Nostalgia Convention.

A lot of hard work has already been done by Chuck and Martin in putting this book together...they have had access to a David Susskind archive which has yielded much productive information...it appears that there will be access to Oscar winning make up artist Dick Smith's archive which should yield additional material... and famed writer Larry Cohen will also contribute...

Should any of you have any photos, publicity materials, press kits, articles or advertising of any kind that would assist Chuck and Martin in producing the best possible book on 'Way Out, it would be very appreciated and fully credited in acknowledgements...publicity, behind the scenes, candid and on set photos would be particularly valuable to this effort...

Chuck and Martin already have in their possession the two Twilight Zone Magazine and Filmfax magazines with the articles previously published on 'Way Out. They wish to find and include as much vintage and period publicity and advertising materials, archive trade paper and popular press critical reviews as possible...and especially so, any vintage photos would be especially helpful...

Chuck and Martin also want to include any first person memories of (then) young viewers who remember watching the show originally in 1961...the authors want to stress that your impressions, memories and critical appreciation for the show itself are welcome for inclusion! However you wish to participate, by email or interview...the show's pop culture cult impact is appreciated too!

You can email Chuck Harter at chuck.harter@earthlink.net

Thank you so much for your time and interest.
