I'm fine with the current Crimson Tide release. I'd LOVE an expanded, remastered of "A League of Their Own". Probably the best big band score for a baseball movie in my opinion.

Another Shirley Walker special! Totally crazy that it hasn't come out yet!

I recall Intrada saying that they have/are looked/looking at it. I think the issue may have something to do with Madonna.

No reason to think that. "This Used To Be My Playground" wasn't included in the official release and there's no reason to think it would be included here.

Just based on a comment over on Intrada forums where Doug mentioned “And one of these days I swear I'm gonna make it happen for her. The whole enchilada... with or without Madonna’s consent.”

Girls can't play ball!

They can, but there's no crying in baseball.

Just saw it. Interesting. The only consent she would need, IF THAT, would be the artwork, possibly? And the Blu-ray was re-released. There's nothing she did that would require her consent.

I have not seen this film yet….
I do plan to some day…
I was wondering; in regards to the final track on the album:

Track number #5:
‘ROLL TIDE’ – which is – 7:33 – in length…
Does this track appear in the movie…?

And if so..
Where?

The cue starts to change around the 4:00 minute mark…
Someone told me that this cue is an – overture – from the film.

It seems to be called – a suite in this thread – so it might not appear in the film?
I am yet to find anyone – (on the internet) – calling that piece of music – an overture.

That part of the cue – (from 04:00) – is also heard in James Cameron’s Titanic.

'Roll Tide' is played during the final scene and the end credits of the film.

For the second half of the part Zimmer incorporated the hymn 'Eternal Father, Strong to Save' (also used in the cue 'Little Ducks' and some other parts of the score), which indeed also features in "Titanic"

And watch the film, it's excellent!

Thanks for confirming that it is not 'an overture'.

I ask this question about this and The Rock. I would love for both of these scores to get the royal treatment.

Listening to CT right now. The album is a terrific listening experience.

I prefer a lot of Zimmer's albums over the expansions, it's a better listening experience, but I wouldn't say no to an expanded release. big grin There are a few unreleased tracks I'd like to add to the playlist.

Agreed, great film with powerful performances by the leads. Great supporting cast too.

I remember seeing this movie back in '95. Great movie and score. Hoping as well for an expanded release. smile
