Oh my... Cocoon just breaks my heart.

I have seen the movie, heard the CD. But the most intense experience of Cocoon is the Cincinnati Pops from Star Tracks II.

We MISS YOU JAMES!

Interesting. Yo-Yo Ma Plays Ennio Morricone must have been a big seller for Sony. I wonder what Ms. Guo thinks of playing Horner's music over Zimmers'? It certainly would be a big change.

I watched Cocoon recently on TCM. Great movie. Better score. Guo's playing on that theme was fantastic.

It would be cool if Sneakers was remembered in some way, but those pianos now belong to A Beautiful Mind, I guess.

I saw Tina live when she toured with Zimmer last year (and came here to Oslo). Talented girl, although the big 'hooplah' and crossover glitz remind me of Vanessa Mae? Remember her?

Regardless, looking forward to this tribute album.

I'm pretty sure Jim means overall, and I'm pretty sure he's right!

The Yo Yo Ma/Morricone album was a long time ago back when there was actual revenue from recordings.

I took cello lessons as a kid. Never did my teacher tell me I needed to whip my head around orgasmically when I played. I could have been a contender!

I saw the Zimmer tour. I always wondered though what this music would sound like on solo cello with strobe lights.

Indeed, today, recordings are more likely to recommend an artist's concerts. There is no money to be made from releasing recordings. The major labels may still make some income through streaming, but only because they have such an enormous back catalogue. Streaming pays little, though I wonder why labels allow their music to be streamed so cheaply. Probably because it's either that or nothing. Sad times for music recordings.
