I currently have the very first Varese edition.

I am wondering if there is any good reason to track down the EXPANDED VARESE EDITION or am I good with what I already have? I missed out on the second edition.

I plan on picking up the new SHOUT! Blu Ray when it comes out so I will have the Goldsmith score that way. I believe the CD that I already have has most of the good stuff. Any comments or opinions?

Some great cues missing from that earlier version:

- Ray, Art and Rumsfield spying on the Klopeks at night
- the aftermath of Ray and Art fending off the bees
- "Ray, this is Walter"
- Meeting Dr. Klopek (some great string work in this, one of my favorite tracks)
- Walter returning home

It's up to you, but I prefer the longer CD.

The complete edition is fantastic and doesn't drag at all for me. I really hope Varese considers doing an Encore Edition of their Deluxe Edition, as they did with Goldsmith's less-deserving Runaway DE.

The best price I found on Amazon is 94.00 plus shipping for the expanded CD...too steep, so yes, I need to see this get a reissue!

Why not get the Arrow UK release. It has an isolated music and effects track, so you can sample the extra cues without dialogue before committing to tracking down the pricey DE.

Unless the specs have been changed, there is no isolated music and effects track on the Shout release, but it's on the UK Arrow release. It's one of the few extras not to be carried over.

Because not everyone has an region-free player? I bought mine FOR The 'burbs, like a real fool, and have watched the features exactly once. LOVE the movie, though.

Count me in as hoping for an encore release. Every time Varèse announces that a club release batch is forthcoming, this is the first title that comes to mind

I found a used/like new copy on Amazon which was about fifty dollars cheaper so I went with that. At least I’ll have it:-)

Yeah, I'm happy I've got mine but I really wish my fellow Goldsmith fans who missed out on it have another chance, because it's really one of his very best scores...and definitely his best comedy score, no contest IMO.

Oh dear, sorry, I didn't think of that. I'm spoilt with my region free (DVD/BD) Toshiba machine.

Stupid region coding. Thank goodness UHD has done away with that.

Shaun, how is the M&E track on the Arrow, are the SFX really intrusive? I was thinking about getting it, as I only have the 30mins earlier album.
