I'll be attending two days of sessions on Nov. 25 and on Nov. 26 (total of four 4-hour sessions).

At age 69, this trip will be something of a "bucket list' item for me. James tells me there is a even a Burger King just across the street, so I'll have a touch of home.

I keep wondering if anyone that I already know will be attending, or if I will meet a bunch of strangers and leave with a bunch of new friends. I really don't do a lot of traveling, so this is will be personal venture into relatively unknown territory - a mixture of trepidation and excitement. I would have SO MUCH liked to also attend the THIEF OF BAGDAD recording sessions, my favorite Rozsa score. Yeah, yeah, I know BEN-HUR is Rozsa's masterwork, but THIEF is still my favorite. smile

Hi Ron Burbella.
I am going too and like you a bucket list experience.
I am coming from New Zealand and it is along way to travel.
Thankfully James has been able to book accommodation (hope you have used this opportunity too) in a city I have never been to.
I will be attending the same recording sessions, having just flown into Munich the day before, and catching the train to Prague on the 24th and then the hotel .
Keep in touch Ron as at least there will be one person I will know. I am 65 so hence a 60's soundtrack starter.
I would like to again thank James.F. for the awesome opportunity and for having made life easy by organising a hotel.
I will be staying in Prague for an extra few days and then back to Munich.
Are you one of the lucky ones going to dinner with the recording group?
I considered it but realised the extra outlay would have meant , in real terms, a meal experience for nearly $1000 NZ.
I might wear a disguise and follow the group....some how blend in. lol
Cheers.
if you wish to contact me directly on Facebook....look for Grant Smith (NZ). I am the guy holding the cutout Mary Poppins hand.

I am coming to Prague from Houston. Like others have said, I considered this to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. My assigned sessions take place on Nov. 27. Having never been to Prague, I am also staying a few days to take in the sights. I'm looking forward to meeting you all. If we're all staying at the hotel James arranged, perhaps we should organize a get together in the bar!

Nearer the time I shall email all the reward winners, privately, with a suggested schedule to include a beer or five. and maybe a Goulash or Pig's Knee or Goose leg confit!!!

Don't be surprised if it tastes nothing like you're used to. Overseas fast food chains may have the same name as those in the U.S., but that could be the only real similarity. My sister found this out when she attended classes in Italy a couple years back.

I'll be at the sessions on the 25th and 26th. I'm looking forward to spending some time in Prague, it's a city I've been wanting to see for a while.

WOW.How cool to finally hear from others going. Yep if we are at the hotel organised by James a definite drink at the bar is needed to meet and hopefully get a chance to tour around the city.
Have heard all sorts of tales about Prague.....sounds fascinating.
Coming from the bottom of the world I will find winter weather daunting as it will be our summer when I leave. So any support and comaraderie will be welcome. Cold enough to wear thermals James.
Sometimes I think I am the only OT soundtrack collector in my country....so will stunning to chat to other soundtrack people.
Awesome guys.
And again thanks James.
Have been viewing clips of the orchestra performing to become familiar with the players.

Well, there are a lot of NZ expats abroad! I hail from Whanganui but now live in the UK. Will be back in NZ for a month this April, to see the rellys. Staying in Rotorua. I am also a big Rozsa fan but won't be attending the performance. Been all over Europe but not Prague unfortunately. Budapest is great for the thermal pools. Like Rozsa, my fav is Italy, especially around the Bay of Naples, Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. Ben there for the past 8 years.

Can't wait for this release!

I'll email 1st off to get phone #. Will be based in Coromandel then Rotorua and then Havlock North to visit rellies, then Singapore etc on the way back. Obviously taking my score collection on iPod, iPad and MacBook Pro to get through the interminable flight. Rozsa and 30K feet!

Went through Whangarei last time - about 4 years ago.

I was based at Punakaiki one time and went for forest walks daily whilst listening to the Jungle Book, particularly the Jungle cues etc. The dawn chorus and the music were the perfect evocation of the experience.

My goodness Mr James Fitzpatrick....you have been to New Zealand , and the Coromandel . well.....awesome.
No need explain my country.
Am so excited and eager to meet you in Prague and the the orchestra, and in particular ...oops....Nic Raine ( with his association with John Barry). I have seen so many videos of the orchestra playing, can't wait to meet them, and see Nic conducting .
I cannot believe you have been here in NZ.

I have a general question concerning the recording sessions. Is there a plan for the cues that will be recorded each day? Do you record the cues in film order, or is it a question of arranging the orchestral forces required for a particular set of cues?
