Any info on this? Will it be the 1985 pop album plus additional score by Nitzsche?

Music by Jack Nitzsche
Limited Edition of 2500 Units

Orders start 2/13, at 12 noon (pst), at

La-La Land Records, 20th Century Fox, Fox Music and Sony Music proudly present this remastered re-issue of acclaimed composer Jack's (ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST, CUTTER’S WAY, STAND BY ME) original motion picture score to the 1985’s ROMANCING THE STONE sequel THE JEWEL OF THE NILE, starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito, and directed by Lewis Teague. Composer Nitzsche’s pop electronica score is expanded far beyond the original 1985 soundtrack release’s two suites, revealing a bright and exciting synth tapestry that perfectly injects all of JEWEL’S romance, action and laughs with rollicking and vibrant energy. The fun is topped off with the infectious Billy Ocean hit song, “When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going,” which played during the film’s end credits. Produced by Nick Redman and Mike Matessino, mixed by Matessino, and mastered by Daniel Hersch, this expanded and remastered presentation includes more than 30 minutes of previously unreleased score material. Limited to 2500 units, this special release features exclusive, in-depth liner notes by writer Jeff Bond and thrilling art design by Jim Titus.

As tempting as it was to order this, I had to prioritize and get Buffy this week. Just Joan and Jack will have to wait until next paycheck. Looking forward to this though! The samples sound great!

This was the very first soundtrack I ever bought. I bought it on Vinyl! I'd buy it just cause of that. A Full Circle.

I never thought this would be released. So ordered!

Curious, the track samples don't highlight the love theme or the heroic theme. That just makes me so much more eager to get my hands on this CD! Thank you La La Land!

Can someone tell me why the song JEWEL OF THE NILE that we hear at the beggining of the film was not included on the cd ?.This was the title song, not the end title they put. Like most of these expanded cds of the 80's they give us more score but they remove the most important: the title song ! BACK TO THE FUTURE, GHOSTBUSTER, THE GOONIES,... ETC

Say what you will, but that Billy Ocean song is GREAT, and I LOVE the video for it! Lots of fun!

Can someone tell me why the song JEWEL OF THE NILE that we hear at the beggining of the film was not included on the cd ?

I'm sure it was a business decision and not a creative one. If they could have included it, they would have. Maybe Ocean is exclusive to another label?
