I've been watching a lot of Ironside recently on DVD and I love the music by Quincy Jones. I think he scored two seasons out of the eight. I've no idea about all other music cues, were they specially composed for the show or library production music?

Along with the original Hawaii Five 0 TV series, I'd love an Ironside CD soundtrack with all the cues and incidental music.

I watch episodes on TV occasionally, but the ones I've seen have scores by Oliver Nelson, which sound great - brassy and punchy stuff. Haven't seen any where Quincy provided the actual scores.

Marty Paich also did some great music in the later seasons, when rock influences started to creep in. Would be great to get some of this on CD, but I doubt it will ever happen, sadly.

Has Riotengine changed his screen name to "Stringbean"?

The IMDb Composers section entry is nearly complete. Some episodes have no credited composer.

Been watching a lot myself of late, thanks to being shown every day on ITV3. Certainly the Eve Whitfield years as I call them were mainly Oliver Nelson though Quincy Jones scored the pilot and around 4 episodes, and also appeared as a piano player in one episode.

As has been mentioned, many episodes were tracked with Jones / Nelson scores so you really couldn't tell who scored what. The later ones, Fran Belding esisodes were mainly Marty Paich. Good, more pop style of scoring than the obvious jazz feel of the early episodes.

Still great to hear such good music forefront and part of the action opposed to many newer series where it's hard to find any music scoring at all.

Love to hear a CD of IRONSIDE, but there I go, wishing my life away again

Tlaking about wishing my life away, what about John Cacavas' great scores for KOJAK. That is TV scoring of the highest order, . How many hours of music did he write, and of such a high quality as well.

Here are two versions of IRONSIDE. First, the main and end titles to the 1967 pilot film. Second, the early version of the tv series.

If you know the pilot music well, you'll notice I removed the repeats which were music-edited near the finish of the End Cast.
